A Taste Of Buffalo. Epilogue.

Monday, July 9th, 2007

Thanks to all for stopping by “Big Blue” during the Taste Of Buffalo this weekend. BBB Bruce The Nut Guy, neighbor Bashar, Myron & Susan, Jane, George, Mary, and Tourette Guy were among our esteemed guests. Special thanks to; Buffalo Place, A Taste Of Buffalo, and Ford, for the impromptu burn-out exhibition as they loaded the Nascar racing car back into the trailer. These guys throw a heck of a block party!

Erlanger Theater. Into The Night.

Wednesday, June 27th, 2007

As I worked into the summer night at “Big Blue” last evening, I listened to an eerie serenade of tortured steel beams and cascading masonry.  The sturdy steel beams of Big Blue’s old neighbor, the 1920’s Erlanger Theater vaudeville house; first feign invincibility, then scream and give out a final haunting defiant roar, as they succumb to the mammoth (unlucky) horseshoe-shaped wrecking ball, and sever from the historic building.

That very same wrecking tool is recognizable from the H-O Oats demolition last year and after last evening; to me it has become the face of Buffalo architecture’s Grim Reaper.

Throngs Descend On 153 Delaware Avenue.

Tuesday, June 26th, 2007

Multi-tasking skills are credited for the seemless progress evidenced this weekend at the 153 Delaware Avenue restoration project as the Bloviator played host to visitors in town for the Gus Macker Basketball Tournament.

The players, fans, and the Bloviator shared an undaunted commitment and a single mindedness of purpose toward achieving their respective goals.

To the backdrop of cheering fans, the players scored points as the Bloviator scored newly pointed brick.

Buffalo Bloviator Publishing’s front porch amenity, located at center court, was a big hit with our city’s weekend guests. Refreshments were served.
